A recent report by Deloitte estimates the total annual cost of poor mental health to employers has increased by 25% since 2019. The cost is between 2020-21is thought to have been in the region of £53Billion. Burnout, exhaustion, job insecurites and uncertainty have impacted on absenteeism, presenteeism and employee turnover.

My focus however is the cost to the person, the individual, the employee. 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health issues each year and we don't always find support readily available, accessible or encouraged.

Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid training enables us to really listen, show empathy, reduce stigma, promote wellbeing and provide the resources and confidence to guide our loved ones, friends and colleagues to professional support. It is a valuable part of the wider strategies that employers should have in place to promote wellbeing at work.

What matters most to me is that people are treated with kindness and respect whatever journey they are on. I'd love to share my passion for this with you...
